SCHOOL YEAR 2010-11

Overall Aim of SDP 2010-11 (The aim of this year’s SDP is as for last year because improving the performance of our pupils is at the core of all we do.)

To create a culture of high expectation and success by creating an environment that promotes good learning and teaching; and high standards of achievement and behaviour.

To achieve this aim it was decided to have three areas for development namely:

1. Curricular

• Development of Northern Ireland Curriculum
• Collaboration with other schools in the delivery of the Entitlement Curriculum
• Development and implementation of a Learning & Teaching Policy
• Using baseline data to identify underachievement and improve pupils performance
• School Improvement: Literacy / Reading – Spelling
• Development of Year 8 Curriculum (Skills based)
• Transition from P.S.E. to Personal Development in Key Stage 3
• Development of LLW in Year 9 and 12.

2. Pastoral

• Supporting positive behaviour management and improving attendance
• Improving Attendance / Developing Home School Links
• Linking Code of Practice and Positive Behaviour Management
• Review of Support Structures
• Implementation of Student Voice

3. General

• Web Site Development
• Review of Management, Reporting Structures and salary policy

Primary 7 pupils and their parents are invited to visit the school on our Open Night on Monday 23rd January 2012 from 7-9pm.
Principals address at 7pm. Our prospectus will be given out during the evening.
