 Societies and Activities

A wide range of after school acivities is available within our school. At present, the following socieities and activities are available:
Athletics, Basketball, Choir, Club Gaeilge, Computer Club, Drum lessons, English Club, Environment Club, Gaelic Football, Guitar Club, Homework Club, Hurling/Camogie, Ladies Gaelic Football, Lunch Time Recreation Club,Modern Languages Club, Netball, Soccer.

Pupils wishing to start a new club or activity are encouraged to do so and they can rely on help and guidance provided by a suitably qualified or knowledgeable member of staff.

Most of the clubs operate from our Glengalliagh Road site. All clubs are available to all pupils attending St Brigid's College/Coláiste Bhríde.

The Extended School Programme

St. Brigid’s College is fully committed to the aims of the Extended Schools initiative and has established a programme of activities and services to help meet the needs of our pupils, their families and the local community. We believe that by working in collaboration with adjacent schools, community groups and statutory agencies we will raise school standards, improve the health, well-being and social inclusion of young people and contribute to community regeneration. After school activities provided through the Extended School programme include:

  • Homework Club
  • Guitar Lessons
  • GCSE Maths & English Classes
  • ICT Classes for Parents
  • ICT Club
  • Drama Classes
  • Film Club
  • Coursework Clinic
  • Girls Gaelic Football
  • Dance Lessons

School Shows

School shows have given students the chance to participate in live theatre. pupils are encouraged to make their unique contribution through acting, singing, or as part of the backstage or technical crews. The innovative and imaginative approach to drama and music, developed since the early days of the school, allow our pupils to develop their skills and talents in a variety of directions.

Primary 7 pupils and their parents are invited to visit the school on our Open Night on Monday 23rd January 2012 from 7-9pm.
