Jack McLaughlin - Head Boy

At St Brigid’s College, I study Technology and Design, Mathematics, and Physics. My aspiration is to study mathematics in Queens University and to one day return to St Brigid’s College to teach. I have enjoyed my time here immensely and I will be very sad to leave at this end of this year. I have made many amazing memories and achieved many great things, one of which was becoming Head Boy, something I once dreamed of! As Head Boy, my role involves practising daily the core values of school, family, church, and community. Embracing the values instilled by our faith and extending them to the broader community, I work hard to ensure each individual feels connected and supported. Through my leadership, I demonstrate the importance of respect, of responsibility, ensuring that the ethos of St. Brigid's extends beyond the classroom, creating a positive impact on both our school family and on the wider community. I hope to leave a legacy that inspires new pupils for years to come - to be the best version of themselves and to grasp every one of the many fantastic opportunities this school provides.

Ceallach Doherty - Head Girl

As Head Girl of St. Brigid's College, my role involves promoting the school's ethos of care, courtesy, respect, and responsibility. I serve as a role model, fostering a positive and inclusive environment where these values are not just words but integral aspects of each school day. Through my leadership, I aim to inspire others to embrace and contribute to the ethos that defines St. Brigid's College. I am currently studying Technology & Design, ICT and Health & Social Care at A level. My studies require a lot of commitment and dedication which has been instilled in me over the past seven years. The support and care that I have received during my time at St Brigid's College has been incredible. The teachers have always gone the extra mile to assist and guide me. I am hugely grateful for the opportunities I have been given and for my own personal development which has been guided by the caring staff. I cannot help but feel a sense of sadness, knowing that I will be leaving behind a community that has become like a second family to me. I will forever cherish in my heart, the memories and experiences I have made, and I am confident that the support and care which I have received from St. Brigid's College will continue to shape my future endeavours and contribute to my success as I move forward onto university to study building surveying.

Jacob Melarkey - Deputy Head Boy

I am currently the Deputy Head Boy of St. Brigid’s College, studying History, ICT and Health and Social Care. These subjects will provide me with the required skills, knowledge and eventual qualifications to practice law at university. I am both honoured and privileged to be the Deputy Head Boy of St. Brigid’s College, and it is an achievement that I will be immensely proud of for the rest of my life. I strive each and every day to provide leadership for the younger students and for the wider school community. A school which promotes family values is extremely important to me – both my sisters also chose St. Brigid’s College as their first post-primary choice. We are part of a supportive community where we can grow, develop and feel a sense of connection. My experience of St. Brigid’s College has been wholly positive, enjoyable, and like no other! I will be very sad to be leaving at the end of this year, however, I am confident in the knowledge that St. Brigid’s College has provided me with the life skills I need to progress onto third level education and beyond.

Eimear Doherty - Deputy Head Girl

I am currently studying Irish, Health and Social Care and Business. I am hoping these subjects will lead me into a teaching career or to pursue an Irish degree at university. The Irish Medium provision at St. Brigid’s College / Coláiste Bhríde was a huge factor in my selection of school, and I would not change it for the world! My experience of St. Brigid’s College / Coláiste Bhríde has been both hugely enjoyable and personally rewarding. I am extremely honoured to have been selected for the role of Deputy Head Girl and I am very much looking forward to giving back to a school that has given me so much! Although I am slightly nervous and sad at the thought of leaving this year, I believe this school has prepared me for the next chapter of my life and has provided me with the necessary skills to move on to higher education.
